Review: You may remember last time I tried buying a tube of nuts at 7-Eleven, I accidentally bought the disgusting, shriveled pistachios manufactured by Planters. Well, this time, I wasn’t going to be fooled. I double and triple-checked and made sure I was buying typical, greasy, salty, trustworthy peanuts. And that’s just what I got.
Greasy.
Salty.
Trustworthy.
Not so much trustworthy in the sense that you could ask them to watch your car while you leave it running and go into the bank to cash a check, but trustworthy in the sense that they will fulfill your salt craving while providing you with a small ration of protein that will help you get through your long day. With a tube just large enough to fit as a midday snack or an accompaniment to any day’s lunch, these peanuts are sure to keep your metabolism forging ahead throughout the day. At least that’s what the peanut campaign billboards here in Chicago tell me. I’m not sure of their validity, but I sure do like a good peanut. And these will do in a pinch. Especially when I can’t be bothered with the ritual of shelling my own.
