Review: One of my many character flaws is that upon first exposure, I tend to take things too literally. For instance, when I was reading a recipe I wanted to try and it called for a can of diced tomatoes, what did I do?
That’s right… I bought a can of diced tomatoes from Dominick’s! Big mistake.
What I should have done is bought a ginormous fresh tomato and diced it myself instead.
Canned vegetables have always tasted disgusting to me. It’s as if someone took the leftover formaldehyde from a high school biology lab and used it to preserve vegetables. For years as a child, I thought I hated green beans when, in fact, I hated the urine-tasting water and chemicals that canned beans swam in.
The difference is minimal with these canned diced tomatoes from Dominick’s. Luckily, the creamy tomato sauce I made from them benefited from my spicing skills.
Save some cash and buy a fresh tomato instead of saving the two minutes it will take you to cut it up and buying this tin can of gross.
