Review: The farmers markets are back from hibernation here in Chicago and I, for one, am excited. No more dusty produce from the supermarket (okay, maybe some dusty produce from the supermarket) or overpriced pesticide-ridden fruits and veggies. Nichols Farm & Orchard will be there for me, in the center of Wicker Park, every Sunday for months to come. (fist pump in the air, followed by popular ’80s catch phrase)
The reason you are only seeing four of the seven fresh little starch balls I bought, is because the other three were immediately hacked into slices and made into damn tasty (if I do say so myself) rosemary and thyme browns for breakfast. The potatoes took a bit long to fry up, but even after scorching some of them, their freshness could still be tasted.
