Consumatron.com October Update!

15 days. Fifteen short days until you and I and several other friends spend a night tossing back a few cold ones, reminiscing and rocking out! The Consumatron.com 1st Anniversary Party is only 15 days away! The countdown begins now! Tell your friends, tell your family and tell that guy who’s always dancing in the middle of the North/Damen/Milwaukee intersection!
I’m hoping this event starts something. Chicago has a music scene, art scene, literary scene, comics scene, comedy scene, film scene and theater scene, but I haven’t found a regular arena where these scenes actively converge and collaborate. It is my hope that this event will bring various people and creative types together. Maybe you’ll just be turned on to something you never experienced before. Maybe you’ll meet other like-minded (or not so like-minded) people to collaborate and create with. Maybe you’ll just have an inexpensive fun time! All I’m saying is, let’s get together and see what we can make of it!
And once again, in case you forgot what a measly $5.00 will get you:
-Charles Blackstone (author of The Week You Weren’t Here)-
-Dan Solomon (poet and spoken word performer)-
-Russell Williamson (stand up comedian)-
-Lord Of The Yum Yum (one man beat-box/scat orchestra)-
-Adam Fitz (singer/songwriter with more than enough soul in his voice)-
-w/set break silence filled by the sounds of DJ Oh Shinobi-
Also not to be missed:
-Live action cartooning and art booth manned by Peter Klockau-
-Prize raffle/donation drive to benefit 826 Chicago-
All this and more for only $5.00!

What else do you have to do?
- Consumatron has a Wiki… Sort of. I’m just learning about how to create/edit wikis, but this is for everyone and anyone to edit. Go ahead, play around with it. Right now it is just a scratchpad wiki, but if there is enough activity, I’ll make it legit… I promise!
- Not to toot my own horn to loudly, but check out the press page. Many thanks to the Chicago Tribune and Draugas for featuring Consumatron in their publications!
- Wanna sell your zine/craft/art/photography/etc… at Consumatron’s party? Send me an e-mail and we’ll talk: consumatron[@]consumatron.com.
