Review: This is me before using my most recent purchase:

This proto-amish look began as a result of my electric trimmer being broken and myself being to lazy to use a scissors to even out my goatee. Shortly thereafter, I decided to let the rest of my facial hair grow out to provide a bit of camouflage for the impending scraggle. Finally, out of a fine mix of laziness and comfort, I decided to just take the month of December off from shaving in general. I actually like the look, as do several of my friends (and most importantly, my girlfriend). Unfortunately, the restaurant I work for on the weekends doesn’t look upon facial hair favorably. All good things…and all that.

So, today, I decided to invest in a new trimmer to get rid of the bulk of this fuzz.

The Norelco T765 AccuTrim is not only extremely affordable, but also very useful for a task such as mine. The guide comb over the vibrating steel cutters flexes and swivels vertically, making the chin and neck an easy shaving obstacle to overcome. There are also nine different length settings that you can switch between simply by rotating the grey ring around the body of the trimmer. The settings lock into place tightly so you don’t have to worry about pushing the guide comb back down resulting in some kind of two-level Kid-N-Play beard. I used the second setting to take away the bulk of my facial hair, then finished the job with a manual razor.

My only complaint about this trimmer is that though it comes with an electrical cord that charges the internal battery, you have to let the trimmer charge before you can use it at all. When I cracked the package, I tried using this device as it was plugged into the wall, but it just whirred weakly and then died out. You would think if electricity is circulating through the device, regardless of whether or not the battery is charged, that one would be able to use the device. Nope. I had to wait nearly a half hour before the device had enough juice to tackle my entire beard. Other than that small annoyance though, the Norelco T765 AccuTrim is a great little shaver that is narrow enough to offer facial sculpting accuracy yet wide enough to make a full shave a quick and painless endeavor.

I highly recommend this item for people who need to keep their beards in check.

Oh yes, and for those of you who are curious to see what my facial landscape looks like, here is a picture from after my shave (with this device and a manual razor):

I clean up nicely, eh? Sorry ladies, this clean-cut reviewer is taken!
